This driver is an absolute beast, mostly because of the Nike Victory Red Tour Driver Project X shaft, which has to be one of the best feeling shafts on the market. I tried a bunch of new drivers at Golfsmith yesterday, and nothing came close to numbers I get from the VR, in terms of launch, spin, and overall distance. The head is a little smaller, and the face is deeper than other Nike drivers. This is not a driver for beginners. But it is plenty forgiving, and for traditionalists, the sound and feel are about perfect. The sound is powerful but somewhat muted, and the ball rockets off the Nike Victory Red Tour Driver club face. And the Project X shaft. This shaft is the real deal. It loads and unloads nicely, and the shaft is an absolute spin killer, which is both good and bad. Overall, I highly recommend this underlooked driver to mid and low handicappers.
