Dear Fellow Golfer,

Bold statement, isn’t it?
Come on! Be honest! How can you expect him to think like you?
Play better golf the next time you play Tiger Woods played competitive golf since he was a kid. By the time he was 19 he had won 3 U.S. Junior Amateurs and 3 U.S. Amateurs. He was never a golfer like you and me, and he cannot begin to understand what we think or how we think.
Although both the game we play, and the game he plays, are called golf, he plays a totally different game to us.
Fact: Not even the pro’s can play golf like Tiger Woods, how can you and me?
Let’s face a few facts.
Tell me, how many of the books you’ve read, the videos you’ve watched and the lessons and tips you got over the years had a lasting effect on your golf game? Unless you spent some time practicing to make the changes, not many I’m sure.
Face it, if you’ve played the game for any length of time, the swing you have now is the swing that will have to do the trick for you – unless you are going to change and put in a lot more time practicing some changes. And by practicing I do not mean pounding buckets of balls on the driving range, hoping that by some miracle you will find the perfect swing, I mean taking serious lessons and practicing under supervision.
The proof of the pudding:
When I wrote this book about 3 years ago I was playing about 4 rounds of golf a year and still played to my last official handicap (1999). So I analyzed why this was possible. The result was “Mind Games: 10 Mind Lessons Guaranteed To Improve Your Golf Game Instantly”.
For the past 2 1/2 years I haven’t played any golf. Not a single round. In fact I had even sold my golf clubs.
So it was with trepidation and excitement that I accept an invitation to golf day on 29 August on a course that I’ve never played. Trepidation because I hadn’t played golf for so long and could be making a fool of myself. Excitement because I could test what I wrote in “Mind Games: 10 Mind Lessons Guaranteed To Improve Improve Your Golf
To be honest, I didn’t go in the game completely cold.
With my son’s old Mac Gregor RD irons and my late father-in-law’s Olimar woods I
* Hit a bucket of balls on the driving range about two weeks before the game and
* Played 12 holes on a par 3 course, pull-drawing a lot of my shots and duffing virtually all my chips
* Hit a bucket of balls on the driving range before the game trying to sort out the pull-draw
* Spent 20 minutes on the putting green. The course didn’t have a chipping green so I couldn’t practice that.
I took a golf cart because my golf fitness isn’t quite up to scratch, focused on the lessons from “Mind Games” and hoped for the best.
The result: “Mind Games: 10 Mind Lessons Guaranteed To Improve Your Golf Game Instantly” works!
I shot an 85 from my 1999 13 handicap on the par 72 6,417 meters (7150 yards) Pretoria Country club course.

Blasted Heaths and Blessed Greens $19.95 Every golfer alive knows that he or she has two ancestral homes: one’s own, and Scotland. On her rolling shores the game of golf had its origins, and to walk the links of St. Andrews is to feel at one with the shepherd who decided one day to see how far he could whack a stone with his crook. Most serious golfers will make the pilgrimage to Scotland, to try to hit the Postage Stamp green at Troon, to trace the footsteps of Ben Hogan at Carnoustie, and to brave the challenge of the Road Hole at St. Andrews; all golfers dream of taking such a trip. For the tourist or the dreamer, there can be no better guide than James W. Finegan. A passionate advocate of the game that’s played on the links between land and sea, Finegan combines a writer’s eye, a historian’s knowledge, and a golfer’s sense of wonder and apprehension to provide an impossibly ambitious grand tour of golf’s native land.In a loop of a thousand miles that begins in Edinburgh and ends across the Firth of Forth in St. Andrews, Finegan covers some sixty courses, visiting the true shrines of the game, the courses that are well known and respected, and the little-known gems you might otherwise pass right by. He shares the history of the courses, both of their creation and of the most famous matches played there; he also writes marvelously about the scenic and strategic charms to be found as you play them yourself. And he provides all the information you need to make your arrangements to do just that — because, unlike most championship courses in the United States, the great courses of Scotland are available to the public. In addition to his delightful descriptions of the golf to be found there, Finegan gives us hisrecommendations for places to stay, ranging from the most modest bed-and-breakfast to the most magnificent castle hotel. He describes the pleasures to be found off the beaten track: the spectacular views from a country road, or the ancient cathedral that’s worth a stop on the way to the first t |

Flog: Fore Love of Golf $8.13 History has produced a handful of professionals and a sprinkling of amateurs, who have at times, come close to mastering the outdoor game commonly known as Golf. Then there is the rest of the world.Well armed and ready to play, this much larger group is painfully more intimate with the frustration caused by engaging one’s sanity and financial resources (both of which are finite) in an outdoor game not-so-commonly known-as Flog.Flog, (Fore Love Of Golf), is the senseless pursuit of perfection in an imperfect world. It is saving through mastering the fine art of gritting one’s teeth while smiling and making pleasant conversation. And, on those days, when nothing seems to go right. Flog is a suitable description of how we all play the game (at least sometimes)… hacking, whacking, cursing our way down the fairway… looking for respectability… or at the very least, an unfair advantage! But isn’t it comforting to know, that even the pros, the world’s elite, with their years of practice and privilege, impressive accumulation of winnings, their arsenal of sticks and tricks of the trade… isn’t it nice to know, that even they cannot escape their day in the barrel. (as it were) Indeed, they must suffer the indignity of appearing as mere mortals on international television.Flog is the publication you have been waiting for! It will reveal to you the ancient golf secrets of the masters. You will learn how to spend more money than you ever dreamed possible on golf equipment and instructional videos. You will learn which golf gimmicks work and which ones don’t, and why you should buy them all anyway.Flog will also teach you the dark mysteries of male-female rivalry and show you how to exploitthem. Are you a good loser? Flog can make you a better one, losing all the time, every time! And if winning is more your style, Flog will show you how can do that too, by using a secret method that we call cheating. To discover even more golf shenanigans, to frolic in the misfortune of o |
